My Story

Hi, I'm Wendy Eldridge.

Welcome to It's Just Not OK

I have been in the financial industry my entire career and am one of those very lucky individuals who truly loves what they do - being a trusted partner to companies with their retirement plans and helping employees find their path to a successful retirement.

When I finally agreed to join the firm as an owner, I don't think I fully understood the financial and emotional risk I was taking on. I believed that I would be treated just the same as everyone else even though I was the only female partner.

But then I spent years watching several of my male partners earn more and have more ownership than I did even though I had more net profit. I would ask, email, Teams message over and over to have discussions on why, but I felt I was either being dismissed or not even responded to. When I finally raised these issues in writing, I was retaliated against. My departure agreement went unfulfilled, and my income and health benefits were ripped away from me for over a year.

As a single mom to three kids, I was completely lost. I had never not worked and every day worried on how I would be able to take care of them.

Eventually I had no choice but to file a lawsuit. It took years. 3 years of hell. I had never experienced this kind of emotional, mental and physical pain in my life.

Finally, after a two-week trial, a jury of 8 women and men eventually ruled in my favor.

Along the way, several news outlets picked up my story which led to dozens and dozens of people coming to me with the same story. Different details, same isolation. Nowhere to go. No one to tell. No money to pursue it.

That's why I built this, so you're not alone.
